I smell like a barn
Mar. 12th, 2009 01:56 amMy hair smells really weird.
The day started out horrible. It was a really hard day all-around. But it got better tonight because
ninjalie and I piled a bunch of greenish herbal glop that looked and felt like watered-down cow pies on our hair, piled our sticky heavy smelly hair on top of our heads, secured it with plastic bags, and washed it out a couple of hours later. She used henna; her hair is a lovely shade of ginger now. I used cassia (a.k.a. senna) mixed with chamomile tea, which seems to have rendered my gray hair an interesting shade of slightly-greenish yellow. The greenish cast may look different in the sun, or may wash out tomorrow; in fact, I may be back to gray in a week or less. But I'm digging the color change. And my hair feels super soft, silky and full, which is the main point of cassia. It was fun to actually attempt to make some slight change to my appearance; I almost never do that! Now my hair smells like, um, maybe like hay. Not fresh-cut hay; hay that's been sitting for a few days after being cut. Or something. I get a giant whiff whenever I move my head.
It's Blue's birthday! In about four hours it will have been four years since he was born. I simply cannot imagine life without him. Of all the people I've ever known and loved, he is my favorite. :D
