Froyo dilemma
Apr. 13th, 2008 03:09 amOK. I have been searching for a reasonably decent pinkberry substitute to satisfy my cravings when I am not in LA. I may have written about this already, but it's on my mind, LJ! After trying a couple that were definitely NOT GOOD I found a frozen yogurt place on Irving called Tuttimelon that I thought was OK. They don't have fresh pineapple for a topping, major sin, but the froyo itself is interesting--very tart, not sweet enough, but something I'd go back for. And I have. Evan declared it better than pinkberry, which to me of course is sacrilege, but he goes and gets it for me sometimes so it's all good.
Then I went back to LA to see George last week, and went to pinkberry. Suddenly it tasted TOO SWEET! Uh-oh. I thought maybe it was just the location, a new one, so I went again the next day to the original pinkberry and it tasted the same. I am sad because Tuttimelon seems to have altered my taste memory so that pinkberry is an awesome but not as perfect as before experience. Now I am on the lookout for something that is between Tuttimelon and pinkberry in terms of sweetness and tartness. AUGGGHHH!
As an aside, I got a sample at the Stonestown food court, a new yogurt place called Loveberry (LOL!) And it was... SALTY. Not good!
