It's a chain in Los Angeles that sells highly addictive tart delicious frozen yogurt. It tastes nothing like the kind of "frozen yogurt" that you might remember from places like TCBY. It is so delicious! I've had it a bunch in LA, and even once in Manhattan, but there is no pinkberry in the Bay Area so I am on a search for the closest froyo to pinkberry that I can find.
Also... is the tart frozen yogurt crazy hitting Seattle yet? There are a jillion places in the Bay Area and most of them have opened in the past few months. So I have a long list of places to try. :D
I want to try making my own Pinkberry (only natural, as Pinkberry claims were found to be fraudulent). I haven't had the time and space to make my own yogurt yet, but I'll find it sooner or later. There are recipes online from various people who've experimented flavoring and freezing it.
From what I hear, most froyo places are getting their yogurt flavored powder from the same distributor. Interesting, because they sure don't all taste the same!
I read some article saying that pinkberry fixed their not-actually-yogurt problem some months back.
If you figure out the magic recipe I will have to fly you up here to make a gigantic batch.
Lisa you should try the plain tart yogurt at Swirlz? Swirls? It's RIGHT next to Adobe (where I work) in downtown San Jose, between Almaden and Market (across from the Tech Museum). Call me, you can park at Adobe for FREE and I'll buy you a yogurt. It rocks. :-)
