1) My dad died when I was 7. He went down in a small plane. He was the pilot.
2) My mom was in prison camp in the Philippines during World War II, from age 4 to 8. Her dad was a missionary and they were captured by the Japanese. They weren't tortured like POWs, but they were starving by the time they were rescued.
3) I hate mushrooms so much, if I had to eat a whole one I would throw up.
4) I've lived with over 100 roommates and/or housemates. Probably 150 by now--I should update my list.
5) My hair was completely straight until I moved to San Francisco at age 22. Now it is so curly, I get ringlets on foggy days.
6) I had such bad buck teeth when I was young, they put full braces on me in third grade because they were afraid I would fall on my face and break my front teeth. I seriously looked like a rabbit, and probably couldn't even close my mouth all the way.
7) One of my legs is an inch longer than the other one. I have a spinal curve because of it.
8) I went away to boarding school when I was 14 years old and never looked back.
9) My first "boyfriend" (in grade school) grew up to be a cop.
10) I never believed in Santa Claus, but I thought jackalopes were real for many years past adolescence.
