When I say "we're all racists" this is what I mean.

This is not directed at anyone in particular. I just think it's interesting. :)

Yes. Except I think he's misreading the data to say that most openly racist people are Conservatives. Yes, there was a slightly higher percentage, but there was overt racism ALL OVER that study, it was ridiculous!

Did you ever take the Yale Implicit study? It is elucidating... https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/ (there are TONS more categories now than when I took it! But I don't think I'm awake enough to take it right now... maybe later this afternoon!)

I don't think I've taken that particular study and I don't have time to do it now, but I've taken similar ones and shown a (thankfully slight) tendency towards discrimination based on appearance. I have plenty more examples of stereotyping, etc., to draw from in my own head. It's a real challenge to try to stay aware of it and figure out what to do with it without overcompensating.

The last time I took it (first time) I showed a slight preference towards African American faces, a slight preference against older white men and a STRONG tendency to categorize male to science and female to humanities (um, hello! look at my house! Plus, they had some categorical oddities, where certain sciences were classified as humanities and that threw me off.)

Overcompensating, yeah. I think I do that. At least with some things.
