I think I have a very strange kind of stupidity, because this makes no sense to me. Why? Because in my mind, there are clear delineations between real and not and it is completely black and white. And my brain just shuts down at situations that bend those lines. I just...don't get it at all. So, like, they are married online? And do they have a real relationship or is it fake? Obviously, they aren't legally married, but how do these things cross over into real life? Shows like CSI where they do things like this totally confuse me.

yeh. punishment seems extreme. as a commenter on the sfgate site said, they should have just arrested and tried her online persona.
