Glasses

I got my new glasses yesterday, hooray! I've been walking around with broken glasses for almost two weeks. One arm broke clean off, so they'd stay on my face (usually) but they'd go all wonky and crooked, and it made me feel dizzy and sick. The new ones are my first half-frameless pair; they have frames at the top but the bottom is just the lens. "It opens up the face," is what the guy at the glasses place told me. I'm looking forward to ordering a bunch of cheapies from one of those online places now that I have a prescription. Anyone have any experience with ordering glasses online that you'd like to share?

Tommy has gotten a bunch of fun and funky ones at a place called Zennioptical.com - Matt used to order from there too and was quite pleased with it. Tommy doesn't love their customer service, but so far has only had the post office foul up one time and he eventually did get his delivery. It was only for two pairs, about $8 each...but now he has about 6 pairs altogether.

In questioning Tommy he said that Zenni should be just fine as long as you have your perscription from your optometrist, including your diopter adjustment plus interpupilary distance...I don't wear glasses (yet in life) so please excuse any typos!

Thank you! I ordered a fun & funky pair just to try out the service. I'm waiting to see how long delivery will take. But even ordering the $20 instead of the $8 ones saves me so much money! I could order like 10 pairs for less than I just paid for one at the optician! Fingers crossed.

No helpful comments on ordering glasses online. I'd never thought of doing so, to be honest.

I do love new glasses, though. It's always so much fun to be able to see clearly... and new frames are a good way to play with how I look.

Aside - who is that in your icon?
