I saw a news article today that made me want to post one of the long rambling life-history-type stories I was just talking about. It was on Yahoo. Title: "Over Time, Memories May Grow More Positive." It talked about a study that showed that as time passes, we tend to cast past experiences in a more positive light and forget some of the negative experiences and feelings that we had at the time.

Ha!! I have so many sad bitter memories that that will NEVER happen with....*insert wry smirk*

and for a long time Matt has said that people, and me, 'remember things the way they would have liked them to be'

and he's right, I've caught myself doing it! Human brain and all!!

I totally believe it. I can remember that my friends and I had bitter fights in high school. I can even remember the locations of those fights. But I'll be darned if I can remember what they were about!

And, I'm not suicidal at the thought of going back home. That's way different than growing up!

Oh, isn't it nice to think so? But alas, for some of us, without the shame, guilt, and regret, we'd have no memories to speak of.
