Somebody replied to a comment I left on their LJ and then banned me from replying. End of discussion, I guess.

For the record, Mr. Banninator, I never said I hated you. I merely meant to indicate that I found your post eyeroll-inducing in the extreme.

Well now you have to tell us what the post was about! ;)

It was just a particularly clueless response to the question of the day, about whether you confront people who say bigoted things. A friend commented, basically, "STFU" on it, and I said "My sentiments exactly." That's all I said, but yeah, it wasn't very nice. His response was full of namecalling and accusations of hatred and hypocrisy, which I would love to respond to, but clearly he is not interested in an actual conversation. Not that I had the best conversational opener. ;)

That's such a wonderfully mature way of dealing with someone whose views differ from yours, isn't it? "I'll reply to your comment and then ban you so you have no opportunity for rebuttal."

Well, you know what they say: always let the asshole have the last word.

Well, in all fairness, I was being kindof a jerk myself. I said "My sentiments exactly" in concurrence with a STFU-type comment that someone else left on his post. Then he called me a bunch of names, accused me of hatred and hypocrisy, and banned me from responding. Super. I totally would have had an actual conversation with him about his idiotic post if he'd wanted to. But I can understand that he felt attacked.

Totally. Except I'm betting that he'll cruise over here at some point and see this, given that he took the trouble to pick through my profile and quote it in his excoriation.
