I really, really love this version of Idiot Wind. I have this whole concert on VHS somewhere, a badly warped copy of a copy of a copy. But even with the visual static, Dylan's hot sexy rough grubbiness comes through loud and clear. He's never looked better than he did when he was partying so hard that he tied a t-shirts on his head rather than drag a comb through his ratty hair. They look like they've been sleeping in a ditch surrounded by bottles of Tequila. Then he snarls his way through the song, the way it's meant to be. Scruffy, venomous Bob. SO HOT.

Oh... the only bummer about this version is that he changed the lyrics to one of the last verses, so he doesn't say "I can't even touch the books you've read" anymore. He changes lyrics all the time, though.

I like this, thanks. I've just started getting into Bob Dylan. I have listened to this song you posted more than once, so I think I'm going to try to figure out how to convert it to an mp3.

I'm glad you like it! It's a great song. The studio version on his Blood on the Tracks album, and there's a great live one on the Hard Rain album too.

I probably shouldn't even mention this, but Hootie and the Blowfish quoted the song... and got sued for it. I was glad they got sued because it was just so gross and yucky, the smarmy way they slipped it into their crappy top 40 cheese. Bleah.
