Feb. 9th, 2008 08:58 amI have been out of commission all week! Monday night to Thursday afternoon I was at a birth, and then I slept and dealt with headaches and this crazy lung thing I have going on. Now I'm finally on the computer. I'm reading the Journals Only filter but I feel really out of the loop.
It's been beautiful, though, after a long rainy spell. I am so crazy about this city, and life is so beautiful. I love looking out at the ocean, and watching the clouds light up in bright coral pink as the sun sets. I am on a crazy post-birth high, totally in love with the birthing woman, her caregivers, and her gorgeous baby. And my sensitive, perceptive, adventurous son, and my kind, intelligent, supportive partner.
Although the thermostat says the house is colder than usual, it feels much warmer this morning. We've had 2 or 3 weeks of nights in the 40's, and for some reason that feels much colder here than in other places--the cold here is bone-chilling and biting. So we've had the heater on every night, which is awful for my asthma. Last night we didn't leave the heater on and the indoor temp only went down to 63 overnight, plus I think my lungs feel a little bit better, so hooray!
More later... Blue is awake.
