Scratching my head
Sep. 8th, 2008 05:32 amI don't get it. Apparently some folks are up in arms that Oprah has decided not to interview Sarah Palin. What I don't get is this quote:
"Women in Florida helped build Oprah into the icon she is today," Linda Ivell, President of the FFRW said in a statement. "We are deeply disappointed in Ms. Winfrey's decision to sit out the greatest political moment in the history of women since suffrage."
How is this the greatest political moment in the history of women since suffrage? Palin isn't the first female VP candidate. They do remember Geraldine Ferraro, don't they?

Date: 2008-09-08 02:12 pm (UTC)I was just disappointed to find that the recent story about Palin banning books is bogus (http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/bannedbooks.asp) but I think it's telling that many people believe that it could very well be true.

Date: 2008-09-09 09:02 am (UTC)Yes, Oprah is OPRAH - but it's still just a talk show, right? Not a political forum that anyone's being banned from...
Have I mentioned how much I hate politics? And stupidity? And the politics/stupidity cocktail?
