OK, I can write a little bit about ADHD I guess.

One thing about living with a person with ADHD: Quite often I'll open the toaster oven to find a forgotten piece of toast or leftover chicken wings. And when I open the microwave I'll see a long-cold bowl of soup or a dried-out burrito. Usually in the morning I wake to find food left out on the counter instead of covered or refrigerated. The amount of food I have had to throw away lately is staggering.

There. That's one thing. I have to start small or I'll get overwhelmed.

I've always wondered if I have AD(H)D. Cause it is only with *serious* effort that I am able to keep myself from forgetting those types of things. And even then, the ones that aren't so important (say, a cup of tea in the microwave) do get forgotten by me. Although my microwave does have a nifty feature that tells me there's something in there, so if I check it, I can find my (now cold, usually) tea.

Our toaster oven beeps incessantly until you open it, that's another plus.

Machinery that helps me with my forgetfullnes, FTW! (Also routines. I usually don't lose things anymore b/c they live somewhere, and I put them back. Although I have lost my camera today and I am irked. WHERE CAN IT BE????)

(PS: the worst thing to leave out, and I have done this, as has my mom/ pretty much everybody in my family, is mayonnaise. GROSS!!!!! Slimy warm mayonnaise is absolutely disgusting. Just from a yuck POV, I mean.)

Sorry you have to live with such forgetfulness. It is a bane in M's life as well...

Have you ever put the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the refrigerator?

How about ice cream in the fridge instead of the freezer?

Yes, although I do *usually* figure it out before the milk/ ice cream spoils.

J does this sometimes (not consistently). It drives me to distraction.
