Now, msn says that the median home price in San Francisco is $759,000, requiring an income of $260,000 annually to afford.

Evan told me about a proverb used often in Japan. I like to juxtapose it with a well-known English proverb to illustrate the difference between cultures.

English proverb: The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Japanese proverb: The nail that sticks up is hammered down.

...that the Federal minimum wage hasn't changed since 1997?

It's still $5.15.

According to Google, that's the equivalent of $4.04 in constant dollars. So it's actually gone down quite a lot in the last 10 years.

Isn't it weird that it's not tied to the actual value of the dollar in some way?
