11:12am Wednesday: Steve Jobs announces, at the end of his speech, that the price of the 8GB iphone is dropping from $600 to $400.
11:45am Wednesday: I learn of the price drop by following a link to a real-time blog from the Apple event posted by a geek friend. I am officially over my indecision between the iphone and the blackberry curve (I am already on AT&T.)
12:27pm Wednesday: The Apple site is slow, but my order is processed and I get my confirmation email.
10:55am Thursday: The Fedex guy hands me my new iphone. Free shipping.

Less than 24 hours from announcement to order fulfillment.

This is the closest thing to instant gratification that I can imagine.

We are going to Stonestown tonight to get Jim his $200 refund, since he bought an iPhone last weekend. I'm getting orange flava'd chikn out of the deal.

When are we gonna meet up for walkies? I'm meeting an LJ mom tomorrow so I'm on a roll! Gonna collect them all!

In my defense, people have been telling me for years that they couldn't believe I didn't have a PDA. I manage so many things at so many hospitals, it has been kindof ridiculous not to have one. So I have justification for this business expense. Although we both know it's all about the FUN.
