twirlgrrl11:12am Wednesday: Steve Jobs announces, at the end of his speech, that the price of the 8GB iphone is dropping from $600 to $400.
11:45am Wednesday: I learn of the price drop by following a link to a real-time blog from the Apple event posted by a geek friend. I am officially over my indecision between the iphone and the blackberry curve (I am already on AT&T.)
12:27pm Wednesday: The Apple site is slow, but my order is processed and I get my confirmation email.
10:55am Thursday: The Fedex guy hands me my new iphone. Free shipping.
Less than 24 hours from announcement to order fulfillment.
This is the closest thing to instant gratification that I can imagine.
