You know this plain nonfat Greek yogurt that's all the rage? Chobani at Safeway, Fage at TJ's, whatever? I put honey on it like tellinellen does, but I'm not crazy about it that way. What do you do to it to make it yummy?

Also, my mom says never to put strawberries or grapes in the fridge because it does something to the sugars and makes them taste not as good. Is this a rule you follow?

I haven't used that particular brand, but I find the best things to add to plain yohgurt are jam or maple syrup (with nuts). :)

Strawberries faste much better when not refrigirated , however I like my grapes really cold.

I've never had that yogourt, so i cant say.

I like the TJ's house brand NF Greek yogurt--it's creamier, and absolutely to die for with a bit of honey.

I think putting fruit in the fridge dulls the flavors temporarily because of the temperatures, but I like cold grapes and strawberries in the summertime!

I love fage! I put honey and berries in, sometimes sunflower seeds. Or applesauce. Jam. Whatever. You can also use it as a sub for sour cream.


I don't care if it's not quite as good, I put my fruit (except apples and oranges and stuff) in the fridge because it goes bad too quickly on the counter.

I pretty much only ever use plain yogurt in place of sour cream, so on tacos, etc. Occasionally I'll put it in a smoothie.

I refrigerate both, I've never heard that rule before. I'll have to investigate. :)

I like my fruit cold so I put everything in the fridge.

I refrigerate both because if they sout they will be devoured by small children or fruit flies in a manner of minutes. =P

I really enjoy plain yogurt with Grape Nuts. I like the Fage 2% with strawberry. The strawberry is separate so you can just add a touch to each spoonful. It's very rich and the strawberry gives it enough sweetness to be a really nice treat.

Skip the nonfat stuff and go for 2%. Nonfat tastes like ass (if ass had no flavor). As for fruit in the frig... The only fruits I try to avoid putting in the cooler are the stone fruits; kills the flavor. It may do the same to other fruits, but I don't notice as much. In any case, a lot of my fruit goes in the frig or it might rot before I got a chance to eat it.

Bah, the 2% is too rich for my blood. The 0% tastes fine, you just need to load it up with blueberries :) Rose takes hers with honey or maple syrup.

She's right about the fridge though.

I never even thought about putting stone fruits in the fridge. I love to bite into them and they'd be too cold for it.

They taste exactly the same to me (and have the same texture, but I buy the full-fat kind), so I figure I may as well get the health benefits from the yogurt. Also, I would feel weird using sour cream in some places where I use yogurt, but not the other way around for some reason.

I get it at New Leaf, so it would probably be found at your local hippie grocery.

I also like Fage with honey, granola, fruit and some toasted almonds. Mmm.
